Ingredients for making banana jam to cut:

 10 ripe dwarf bananas

1 cup of brown or demerara sugar

1 envelope of unflavored gelatin powder

 butter to grease

 sugar to sprinkle and wrap

How to make banana jam to cut:

Start by peeling the bananas and placing them in a pan along with the sugar. This is the first step of chopping banana candy.

Tip: You won't need to cut bananas if they are ripe.

Place the pan over medium heat and keep stirring until the bananas are gone and they turn into a brown mixture that comes off the bottom, like a pan brigadeiro.

After the previous step, turn off the heat and let your banana candy cool a little. In the meantime, hydrate the gelatin in 1-2 tablespoons of water and, when it is firm, heat it slightly in the microwave or on the fire and add to the banana mixture.

Tip: It is important not to let the gelatin get too hot as it will lose its gelling properties.

Transfer the chopped banana jam mixture to a buttered and sugared serving dish. Allow to cool completely, then set aside in refrigerator for 4-5 hours.

When the banana jam to cut is already very firm, you can cut it and pass it on the sugar. Indulge in this homemade candy and tell us what you think in the comments below. Enjoy your food!
